Please read the FAQ and search fields carefully before submitting your idea.

1. Submit game idea

Before submitting the game idea, check if it meets the following requirements:


Test games

Your game must have been tested in at least 5 critical rounds of play.


 

Rules

... was proofread for comprehensibility by a third party who does not know the game.
... contains (if necessary) pictures/photos of the game structure and game situations. This facilitates the understanding!
... does not exceed the size of 6 pages A4 (minus the pictures)!
... contains your complete contact details with address and e-mail address.


Send the game description preferably by e-mail (or alternatively by letter) to Mühlenkind Kreativagentur. Mark your submission with the subject "Ravensburger". Send a game prototype only upon request.

2. Transfer processing fee


There is a fee for the review of a game idea. The fee must be paid to the bank account indicated below before the processing can begin; include the title of your game as a reference when transferring the fee. If payment is not received within 14 days, there will be no review of your game idea and there will be no obligation to return your submitted materials. In this case, the data will be deleted.

BASIC FEE

€ 75,00* per submission by e-mail (or by letter).

* Includes 19% VAT. If for a game proposal, a playable prototype is asked to be submitted by parcel from countries other than Germany, you must remit the additional fees as noted below. The higher costs for countries outside Germany are based on the higher parcel rates. The charges for parcels from countries outside Germany and heavier than 5 kg are subject to enquiry. In the case of remittance from abroad, please note that all bank charges are borne by the sender. In the case of payments from non-European countries, please add the reference OUR.


ADDITIONAL FEES

€ 8,00* for each prototype with shipping adress in Germany.

€ 35,00* for each prototype with shipping adress in a European country and Suisse.

€ 85,00* for each prototype with shipping adress in a non-European country.

3. Evaluation of the game idea

You will receive a confirmation of receipt approx. 1 week after receipt of your game idea and/or the processing fee. The invoice will be sent in the following month. The confirmation of receipt contains a confidentiality agreement with the following content:


"When reviewing and evaluating your game idea, all documents, drawings, sketches, prototypes, etc. made available to you are treated “confidentially” - but are not treaded with absolute “secrecy”.
The information obtained as part of the submission will be used as part of the review of the submitted game idea, which means that we will discuss it with test players as well as with the editors. In particular, this includes the employees of Mühlenkind Kreativagentur and of Ravensburger Verlag GmbH. Nonetheless, we will not publish or otherwise disclose information about your documents, drawings, sketches, prototypes, etc. without your prior written permission.This being said, we do not consider your submission as a “secret” in the meaning of Directive (EU) 2016/943 on the protection of trade secrets and the laws / proposed legislation based thereupon.”


Your game idea will then be evaluated by the agency with regard to the search fields of Ravensburger Verlag GmbH. Please be patient, the processing time takes up to 8 weeks.


Level 1: Does the game idea have sufficient potential?

a) If the assessment is positive, you will be asked to send in a prototype. Continue with step 2.

b) If the assessment is negative, you will be sent a final evaluation form.

Level 2: What result do the test matches show?

a) If the test result is positive, you will proceed to step 3.

b) If the test result is negative, a final evaluation sheet will be sent to you.

Level 3: Presentation of the game idea to the responsible editorial team at Ravensburger Verlag GmbH (2x per year)

a) If the responsible editorial office is interested, the agency will hand over your idea to Ravensburger Verlag GmbH for internal review. From now on, you will correspond directly with Ravensburger.

Continue with step 4b) If the responsible editorial office is not interested, you will be sent a final evaluation form.

Screening process by Ravensburger Verlag GmbH

a) If the result of the test is positive, Ravensburger Verlag GmbH will offer you a license agreement. The contract regulates, for example, the license fees that you receive from the sale of the game. You negotiate the fees yourself. The Mühlenkind Kreativagentur does not receive any share of your license income agreed upon with Ravensburger Verlag GmbH.

b) If the result of the review is negative, Ravensburger Verlag GmbH will send your prototype back to you with a short justification.

4. Return


Prototypes that did not make it to the editorial office of Ravensburger Verlag GmbH will be returned to you by Mühlenkind Kreativagentur within 4 weeks of the final evaluation.
